With precision craftsmanship and an architectural eye, Karen Pierce masterfully works metal into striking contemporary vessels. Her “double walled” and “nested” bowls are spun or hammered to form a perfect fit; the patinas chosen, applied, and meticulously finished to complement and enhance one another. Karen’s Lamanai Series vessels, etched, electroplated and metal leafed, often glow with colored resin and small jewel highlights of color. Each piece is influenced by her recent archeological excavation at a Maya site in Belize, Central America.
