A meticulous metalsmith, Sergey Jivetin creates wearable sculpture, thoughtfully designed and perfectly executed. Sergey begins with materials “very industrial in nature,” turning them into wearable forms that are “sensual and even somewhat organic” without losing their origins. Steel tubing, watch hands, and nitonal – a material used in ballistics – have each served as base elements in his jewelry. Despite the differences in materials, his works have the commonality of complexity and detail, with hundreds or even thousands of individual elements culminating in a single, flawless, sophisticated piece of jewelry.
