In Deborah Horrell’s work, “the vessel is a primary form and figure.” Influenced by both the still life tradition and surrealism, her work is distinguished by tableaus of colorful glass vessels. Recently, she has focused attention on the interiors of her vessels, developing an intricate composition within the form. Deborah uses the pate de verre technique in the creation of her vessels, resulting in works infused with tiny particles of colored glass that capture and transmit light.
