The element of water is a recurring theme in Brad Copping’s work. “This colorless fluid, this thing we all share at the most intimate level with each other and the natural world we are a part of, is the element I continue to circle around.” In his Cup Sketches Series, Brad uses the small drinking vessel to represent ideas of containment, consumption and separation. The resulting pieces are powerful, yet quiet and contemplative. His intent is to illuminate the complexities of our relationship with the natural world and the ongoing journey to find balance within it.
